Battery Wharf

Hotel + Civic Open Space | Boston, Massachusetts

The history of Battery Wharf extends back the 17th century when the first battery was constructed to protect Boston Harbor. In association with the mixed-use development of the site in Boston’s North End, Halvorson designed two acres of public waterfront open space.

Bridging a missing link in Boston’s continuous public harborwalk, the landscape improvements create a “waterfront village” supporting an extensive interpretive program about the rich history of the site.
